Airwallex now supports Affirm for eligible merchants in 35 markets that sell to shoppers in the United States. If you sell in the US, Affirm is a strong addition to your checkout. As of March 31, 2026, Affirm has close to 27 million users1.
What is Affirm
Affirm lets your eligible shoppers pay over time. At checkout, they can split purchases into four interest-free installments or choose monthly payment plans, with the full cost shown upfront and no late or hidden fees, or compounding interest.
If you sell higher-value products or services that can be a bigger purchase decision for your customers, Affirm gives them more choice and flexibility in how they pay, so they can move forward on their terms — without changing the checkout experience you already offer. That is especially relevant in categories such as electronics, furniture, travel and other higher-value purchases.
Why Affirm matters if you sell to US shoppers
Affirm launched in 2012, and its momentum only continues to build. As of the quarter ending March 31, 2026, active consumers grew 22% year over year and active merchants grew 44%. Gross merchandise volume reached US$11.6 billion in the same quarter1.
Demand is growing amongst US shoppers, making this a strong opportunity to add Affirm to your checkout.
Why use Affirm with Airwallex
With Airwallex, you can offer Affirm to eligible US shoppers without setting up a local US entity or managing a separate provider. You can manage Affirm through your existing setup with a single integration. Affirm is available across multiple Airwallex integration methods, including Hosted Payment Page, Drop-in Element, Mobile SDK, Native API, Shopify, Payment Links, and more.
Affirm also fits naturally into your broader payments setup with Airwallex. Airwallex supports more than 160 payment methods globally, so you can strengthen your US checkout with Affirm while building a more localised payment mix across other markets.
