GoGoX is a pioneer in the Asian logistics technology sector, operating as a leading app-based platform for on-demand delivery and freight transportation. Founded in 2013, the company has since evolved from a local van-hailing app into a comprehensive logistics ecosystem. Today, GoGoX connects millions of individual and business users with a vast network of over 5.2 million registered drivers across more than 340 cities in Hong Kong, Singapore, Mainland China, South Korea, India, and Vietnam.

Introducing GoGoX
GoGoX set out to use technology to remake traditional logistics. What began as a van-hailing app is now an asset-light logistics platform that connects drivers and customers across Asia’s major commercial hubs.
At GoGoX’s scale, a seamless payment flow is mission-critical. Any latency or friction in the payment lifecycle slows bookings, ties up drivers, and hurts the customer experience. As the business expanded internationally, GoGoX needed a payment stack that could match its on-demand model for both speed and uptime.

Reeve Kwan
Co-founder of GoGoX
"In logistics, every second represents a tangible cost. A failed payment is more than a lost transaction; it causes immediate revenue leakage and accelerates customer churn. As we expanded globally, it became clear that our payment infrastructure had to be as agile and intelligent as the digital platform it supports. Airwallex provided that foundational reliability."
The challenge
As GoGoX scaled across borders, the friction between their digital growth and traditional financial systems created three critical bottlenecks.
Online payment friction directly impacted service quality
For a logistics company, payment processing is not a back-office function; it is part of the core product architecture. When a customer books a van, the payment must be authorised, risk-checked, and confirmed almost instantly. GoGoX found that traditional solutions were introducing unnecessary friction, increasing both decline rates and transactional latency. Any delay in this chain means a slower booking confirmation, a waiting driver, and a degraded customer experience.
Operating across multiple Asian markets compounded the problem. Each market had its own payment methods, fraud patterns, and rules, which required dynamic, market-level risk controls. If thresholds were too tight, legitimate revenue was blocked; if they were too loose, GoGoX carried unnecessary chargeback risk. Neither was sustainable at scale.
Disjointed internal spend management across markets
While the platform was designed to move goods at light-speed, the internal engine was stalling. As GoGoX scaled its revenue collection, its internal spend management could not keep pace with its transactional throughput. Teams in new markets relied on personal cards and manual reimbursements. This created a disjointed environment where the speed of the front-end booking system was offset by asymmetric data silos and manual back-office workflows that struggled to equip new teams with the liquidity they needed to stay mobile.
Fragmented data and limited spend visibility
With operations scattered across multiple cities, GoGoX’s leadership lacked a single source of truth for financial health. Data was trapped in silos across different dashboards and entities. Assembling a coherent picture of global operating expenses required significant manual effort, making it nearly impossible to identify cost-saving trends or flag unusual transactions in real-time.
The solution
Airwallex equipped GoGoX with an AI-powered payment and financial intelligence stack, purpose-built for high-volume, cross-border operations.
AI-driven revenue recovery with Optimize 360
To solve the friction in customer payments, GoGoX deployed Airwallex Checkout with inbuilt Optimize 360. This natively integrated AI engine applies real-time intelligence directly to the payment stack. It uses heuristic smart routing to select the optimal path for every transaction based on issuer behaviour and geography, and employs AI-driven Smart Retries to recover payments that would otherwise fail due to technical glitches. Additionally, the AI-led fraud engine analyses behavioural and network signals on the fly, allowing legitimate customers to pass through seamlessly while intercepting high-risk transactions through ML-driven risk scoring.
Agentic card issuance with automated expense management
Beyond payment acceptance, GoGoX adopted Airwallex Corporate Cards and Spend Management to standardise spend control across its growing, multi-market team. Instead of navigating complex portals or waiting for manual approvals, the finance team now issues cards via simple conversational commands, with tailored limits for each team or user.
Real-time cash flow intelligence with Kai, the Airwallex AI assistant
The AI assistant, Kai, also transformed how GoGoX interacts with its financial data. Leadership no longer needs to pull manual reports to understand their global footprint. They can ask Kai to show a breakdown of marketing spend across Hong Kong and Vietnam for the last quarter, or identify any unusual SaaS subscription spikes. This gives the team instant clarity on spend and turns a reactive back-office function into a proactive, AI-driven strategic tool.

Reeve Kwan
Co-founder of GoGoX
"We built GoGoX to move goods faster and smarter. Airwallex AI helps us move money the same way. Optimize 360 makes every booking smoother for our customers, and the AI assistant gives us the kind of instant financial clarity that lets us focus on what matters, scaling the platform and serving more cities."
The results
By embedding Airwallex's AI capabilities into both its customer-facing payment flow and its internal financial operations, GoGoX achieved measurable gains across speed, safety, and strategic insight.
Enterprise-grade infrastructure reliability: With 99.999% platform uptime, Optimize 360's AI routing and smart retries improved order completion rates across all Asian markets, reducing churn at the point of sale. AI-driven risk analysis simultaneously cut chargebacks and false declines, ensuring loyal customers never hit unnecessary friction at checkout
Agile expansion through agentic card issuance: The ability to issue cards at scale via the AI assistant eliminated weeks of manual admin, allowing the team to launch in new cities with their financial infrastructure ready on day one
Conversational financial oversight: Natural language data querying replaced manual spreadsheets, giving the finance team real-time oversight of global spend and the ability to make data-backed decisions instantly
GoGoX's experience illustrates a pattern common among fast-scaling platforms: financial infrastructure that works at one stage of growth quickly becomes a bottleneck at the next. For any company expanding into new markets, the takeaway is clear: invest in intelligent financial orchestration early, before the gap between your ambition and your operations starts slowing you down.
As Reeve puts it, "We used to treat payments and spending as a back-office function. Once we started using Airwallex and its embedded AI features, it became a real part of how we run the business."
