Qantas Business Rewards Scheme Terms


Effective 1 May 2020

1. Introduction

1.1 These Reward Scheme Terms:

a) apply to and govern the contractual relationship between Airwallex and each Member with respect to the Reward Scheme made available by Airwallex as a participant in the QBR Program;

b) are effective as at the date specified above and may be amended by Airwallex from time to time; and

c) operate in conjunction with the QBR Terms (available at www.qantasbusinessrewards.com) between Qantas and each Member.

1.2 The current Reward Scheme Terms are available at www.airwallex.com/terms/business-reward-scheme. It is the Member’s responsibility to read and understand them. Qantas is not responsible for the Reward Scheme and is not a party to these Rewards Scheme Terms. Any queries regarding these Reward Scheme Terms should be directed to Airwallex.

1.3 The Member accepts these Rewards Scheme Terms on the earlier of agreeing to them when applying for an Airwallex Payment Product or when the Member participates in the Reward Scheme constitutes acceptance of these Reward Scheme Terms.

2. Definitions

2.1 Unless the context otherwise requires:

(a) terms used in the QBR Terms have the same meaning in these Reward Scheme Terms; and

(b) the following terms have these meanings in these Reward Scheme Terms.

Airwallex means Airwallex Pty Ltd ABN 37 609 653 312 and AFSL 487221;

Airwallex Payment Products means the following products and services provided by Airwallex to a Member:

(a) foreign exchange conversion services;

(b) international payout services;

(c) debit card services; and

(d) any other product or service approved in writing by Airwallex as an Airwallex Payment Product.

Airwallex Payment Product Terms means the terms and conditions applicable to an Airwallex Payment Product that are agreed between a Member and Airwallex.

AUD means Australian Dollars;

Earn Rate means 1 Qantas Point for each AUD20.00 (or equivalent value calculated by Airwallex) of one or more International Payments.

International Payment means an international payment to a bank account using an Airwallex Payment Product or international card payment using an Airwallex Payment Product where the merchant or financial institution accepting or processing the payment is outside of Australia.

To avoid doubt, fees, charges, standalone foreign currency conversions and funds paid or collected into an account are not International Payments.

Member means a QBR Program member that is invited to participate in the Reward Scheme and complies with the Reward Scheme Terms.

QBR Program means the loyalty program known as Qantas Business Rewards.

QBR Terms means the terms and conditions of the QBR Program.

Reward Scheme means QBR Airwallex Reward Scheme, which is operated by Airwallex.

Reward Scheme Terms means these terms and conditions which are administered by Airwallex.

Special Offer has the meaning given in clause 6.1.

2.2 In these Reward Scheme Terms, unless the contrary intention appears:

(a) the singular includes the plural and vice versa; and

(b) a reference to ‘include’ or ‘including’ means ‘including but not limited to.

3. Application of Reward Scheme Terms

By claiming any QBR Program benefits under the Reward Scheme, a Member agrees to be bound by these Reward Scheme Terms in addition to the QBR Terms. A Member must be approved by Qantas as a Member of the QBR Program to be eligible to participate in the Reward Scheme and maintain such Membership to continue to participate in the Reward Scheme. A Member must be approved by Airwallex for an Airwallex Payment Product to be eligible for to participate in the Reward Scheme and must maintain such Airwallex Payment Product to continue to be eligible to participate in the Reward Scheme.

4. Changes to Reward Scheme

4.1 Airwallex may make changes (whether material or otherwise) to these Reward Scheme Terms, the terms of any Special Offer and the Qantas Points offered in relation to Airwallex Payment Products, including changes to:

(a) the ways in which Qantas Points are earned under the Reward Scheme;

(b) any Airwallex Payment Products or features of Airwallex Payment Products; and

(c) restrictions, conditions and eligibility to earn Qantas Points under the Reward Scheme.

4.2 Airwallex must inform Members of material changes to the Reward Scheme Terms and where such changes will reduce the number of Qantas Points offered to Members under the Reward Scheme, when possible, give Members at least 30 days’ notice.

4.3 Without limiting clause 4.1 in any way, Members will be taken to have received the notice referred to in clause 4.2 if Airwallex or the QBR Program notifies Members of the change by sending an email to the Member’s known email address.

4.4 Without limiting clauses 4.1, 4.2 or 4.3, Airwallex may also make changes to these Reward Scheme Terms in the same way that changes may be made under the Airwallex Payment Product Terms.

5. Termination or suspension of the Reward Scheme

5.1 Airwallex gives no undertaking as to the continuing availability of the Reward Scheme. Airwallex may terminate or suspend the Reward Scheme at any time, and will give at least 60 days’ notice to Members of such termination or suspension, except if the QBR Program ceases to operate, in which case the Reward Scheme will cease immediately.

5.2 If Airwallex terminates or suspends the Reward Scheme then, subject to the QBR Program Terms, Members will be able to their transfer Qantas Points during the notice period, except where:

(a) Qantas is ceasing to operate an airline business and/or has gone into liquidation, receivership or other form of administration; and/or

(b) Airwallex ceases to operate its business and/or has one into liquidation, receivership or other form of administration,

in which case Qantas Points in the QBR Program may be cancelled without notice.

6. Earning Qantas Business Rewards Benefits

6.1 Subject to the exclusions, limitations and other conditions specified in these Reward Scheme Terms, Airwallex will award Qantas Points to Members as follows:

(a) at Earn Rate for International Payments from the date of being approved by Airwallex for an Airwallex Payment Product; and

(b) if applicable to a Member, in accordance with the terms of any special offer (Special Offer) made by Airwallex in writing to Members in connection with an Airwallex Payment Product.

6.2 QBR Program benefits may not be awarded to a Member if Airwallex terminates or suspends all or any part of an Airwallex Payment Product for the Member or a Member does not comply with any Airwallex Payment Product Terms or the terms of any Special Offer.

6.3 Without limiting these Rewards Scheme Terms or the terms of any Special Offer, Members are not entitled to claim Qantas Points or any other QBR Program benefits under the Reward Scheme where:

(a) if the Member is initially approved for an Airwallex Payment Product through a referral arrangement with a third party who is not Qantas;

(b) the use of any product or service that is not an Airwallex Payment Product.

6.4 To earn QBR Program benefits in relation to an Airwallex Payment Product, the Member must quote its ABN to Airwallex at the time of applying for an Airwallex Payment Product and must comply with any other requirements or procedures advised by Airwallex when applying, or prior to being approved, for an Airwallex Payment Product.

6.5 It is the responsibility of the Member to check whether a product, service or other activity is eligible to earn QBR Program benefits, and if so how many Qantas Points or which other QBR Program benefits will be earned, before applying for an Airwallex Payment Product or undertaking the relevant activity in connection with these Reward Scheme Terms.

6.6 If a Member claims any Qantas Points under a Special Offer, Members must provide Airwallex on request with documented verification of the acceptance of the Special Offer and application for an Airwallex Payment Product in connection with any Special Offer. Airwallex reserves the right to deny or revoke the crediting of Qantas Points in the QBR Program at any time if Airwallex determines that Qantas Points were improperly obtained or erroneously credited to a Member’s Membership Account.

6.7 Unless otherwise determined by Airwallex, Members are not eligible to earn Qantas Points in the Reward Scheme if they:

(a) have their principal place of business outside Australia; or

(b) have not been invited via email to participate in the Rewards Scheme and/or failed to be approved for an Airwallex Payment Product.

7. Crediting Qantas Points in Qantas Business Rewards

7.1 Airwallex will request the QBR Program to credit the applicable number of Qantas Points earned under the Reward Scheme to the Membership Account within 90 days of each International Payment using an Airwallex Payment Product or within 90 days of meeting the conditions of any Special Offer. It is the responsibility of the Member to check that the correct number of Qantas Points has accumulated in the Membership Account.

7.2 Claims for the crediting of Qantas Points must be made by the Member to Airwallex within 90 days of each International Payment or meeting the conditions of any Special Offer (as may be applicable) and if a claim is not made within that timeframe then the Member accepts the recorded number of Qantas Points credited to the Membership Account. Claims for the crediting of Qantas Points cannot be made if the Membership is not current or if the Membership Account was not active at the time the Airwallex Payment Product was applied for or approved, at the time an International Payment is made or when Airwallex requests Qantas to credit earned Qantas Points. In such cases, a Member forfeits any earned but uncredited Qantas Points and has no claim against Qantas or Airwallex for the value of such Qantas Points.

7.3 Airwallex will calculate the number of Qantas Points that a Member is eligible to receive under these Reward Scheme Terms or any Special Offer including the Earn Rate and the number of International Payments in AUD. Airwallex will convert any International Payments made in a foreign currency to the equivalent AUD amount using the prevailing rates determined by Airwallex.

8. Suspension or termination of a Member or Qantas Points in Qantas Business Rewards

8.1 Airwallex reserves the right to terminate a Member’s participation in the Reward Scheme or withhold or cancel Qantas Points claimed under the Reward Scheme if a Member or any of the Member’s representatives has attempted to claim Qantas Points under the Reward Scheme to which they were not entitled.

8.2 Airwallex and Qantas will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered by any person as a result of such withholding or cancellation and the Member is responsible for ensuring that its nominated Qantas Points recipients are notified of this.

9. Personal Information

Airwallex will collect, use and disclose any personal information in accordance with the Airwallex Payment Product Terms and Airwallex’s Privacy Policy. In addition to the consents obtained in those documents, each Member acknowledges that Airwallex may receive and disclose personal information to Qantas for the purposes of managing the Rewards Scheme and marketing or promotions in connection with the Rewards Scheme.

10. Taxation Implications

10.1 Airwallex recommends that Members and their nominated Qantas Points Recipients consult their accountant or tax adviser to ensure that they understand possible tax (including fringe benefits tax) implications, if any, related to their earning and use of Qantas Points under the Reward Scheme.
