Payment method activation
To start accepting any payments from your customers through Airwallex’s wide range of payment methods, you will need to confirm the activation status of each payment method. You may navigate to “Payments” → “Payment methods” after logging into your account.

We have worked to automatically enable popular payment methods for you. In the case where you didn’t see any active payment method listed, or your preferred payment method is not active, you shall submit an application.
Airwallex obligations require that we collect and maintain this information on all Payments users. These requirements come from our regulators and financial partners, and are intended to prevent abuse of the financial system. We review the information you provide internally to make sure that it complies with Acceptable Use Policy and Terms & Policies .
Payment Onboarding Flow
- Submitting an Application: Navigate to the payments tab within your Airwallex account and click “Get started”. During this process, you will be required to provide information to facilitate the optimal setup of your account.
- After submission: Your application will be automatically approved if it meets certain criteria. If a further review is required, our team typically takes 1–2 business days to complete the review process.
- Requests for information: Should additional information be required, our team will reach out with questions, and you may submit your responses directly within the portal.
- Following a careful review of your application, you will be notified of the outcome.
- Approved: You may proceed with integration and payment processing via your website or payment links. If you are new to Airwallex Payments, you will be informed about further details regarding a reserve plan , if applicable.
- Declined: Your application for payment acceptance has been declined. Please refer to the FAQ for possible next steps.
