When setting up your account to use Airwallex's payment acceptance solution, consider the following key configuration details.
Choose your payments solution
When activating payments for your Airwallex account via the Airwallex web app, you will be requested to provide information about how your customers pay for their orders. This will determine the payment products that are available to you and their supported payment methods. For information on the Airwallex's payment products, see Choose your payment solution.
Activate payment methods
The payment methods you wish to support will depend on the requirements for the specific payment method.
For some payment methods you will have the option to select your preferred route and how you want to split the transaction traffic. This will enable you to increase your conversion, authorization rate and reduce reliance on single acquirers.
To start accepting payments from your customers through Airwallex's wide range of payment methods, you will need to confirm the activation status of each payment method. See Activate payment methods.
PCI DSS certification

PCI-DSS status: Determines the integration options you can choose. Based on the information you provide, we can upgrade your PCI-DSS certification level.

Default dynamic descriptor: This will be shown to your customers for every payment transaction via Airwallex -- you can change it per transaction using API.
Configure settlement currencies

Decide which principal settlement currencies you want to receive funds in order to avoid FX costs. The more Airwallex balance currencies you have, the more like for like currencies you can configure.

Out of the above, the fallback settlement currency will be used to settle all other currencies we cannot provide you for like, and in this case FX costs will be incurred. We recommend you to set this currency as a major tradeable currency to reduce your costs.

FAQ
Why is my application unable to proceed?
To meet our internal and external obligations there are certain restrictions upon which we may be unable to proceed with your application to activate payment methods.
- Your business operations are outside of our Acceptable Use Policy (see Airwallex Acceptable Use Policy ).
- Your application may not meet the requirements of our payment partners or our internal policies. This could be due to Card Scheme regulations that Airwallex is required to comply with.
- Airwallex may be unable to onboard a merchant that falls outside of our internal risk policies.
Why are the payment methods I requested not available?
In certain cases where your application is approved we may not be able to provide access to certain payment methods you have requested. These are due to the requirements placed on us by our payment partners.
