Adyen Singapore: Features, fees & alternatives (2026)

Key Takeaways:

  • Adyen Singapore is a Major Payment Institution licensed by MAS, offering online, in-person, and platform payment solutions for enterprise-scale businesses.

  • Adyen uses Interchange++ pricing for major cards plus a fixed processing fee per transaction. This is transparent, but harder to forecast than blended pricing.

  • Airwallex goes beyond Adyen by combining payments, multi-currency accounts, transfers, and Corporate Cards in one platform. With Airwallex, you can accept 160+ local payment methods in 180+ countries.

Adyen Singapore is the local arm of Adyen N.V., a Dutch payments platform that processes online, in-app, and in-store payments for some of the world's largest companies.

It supports a wide range of local payment methods and holds a Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

This guide breaks down what Adyen Singapore offers in 2026: its core products, fees, who it's built for, and how to integrate it.

What does Adyen Singapore do?

Adyen Singapore helps businesses accept payments online, in-app, and in person through a single integration.

Company background

Globally, Adyen processes more than €1.4 trillion in payments annually, supports 150+ currencies and 200+ local payment methods, and operates 29 offices with historical platform uptime of 99.999%.¹

MAS licensing

Adyen Singapore Pte Ltd is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) as a Major Payment Institution under the Payment Services Act 2019. Its MAS-regulated services include domestic money transfer, cross-border money transfer, and merchant acquisition.

Information in this section is based on Adyen’s official website as of 11 Sep 2026.

Adyen payment solutions for Singapore businesses

Adyen brings online, in-person, and platform payments together under one integration. Here's what each part of the offering looks like for a Singapore business.

Online payment gateway

Adyen's payment gateway lets you accept payments on your website or app. Globally, Adyen supports 200+ payment methods1, including local options that can help you cater to customers in different markets.

For example, Singapore shoppers can pay with GrabPay, while Alipay and WeChat Pay can help businesses reach customers in China and other markets.

In-person payments

Adyen's in-person offering covers countertop, mobile, and Tap-to-Pay solutions, with Singapore among its supported markets. Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android lets you accept contactless payments on compatible smartphones without a separate card reader.

Adyen also supports Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) for eligible in-person payments, letting international shoppers choose whether to pay in the local currency or their own currency. DCC is supported in Singapore for eligible Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro transactions.

If you run both an online store and physical retail, Adyen's Unified Commerce connects online and in-person payment data in the same system, helping you manage payments and reconciliation across channels.

Adyen for Platforms

If you run a marketplace or software-as-a-service platform, Adyen for Platforms lets you embed payments into your product.

You can onboard sellers, accept payments, and manage payment flows through a single integration. Adyen supports platform onboarding across 33+ countries and 23 languages.2

It also supports split payments, allowing you to automatically allocate transaction funds between sellers, your platform commission, and other parties.

Adyen’s financial products

A note on financial products: Adyen also offers Accounts, Card Issuing and Capital as part of its Platforms offering. These financial products are available in selected markets, but not currently in Singapore.1

If your platform needs to offer financial products to customers in Singapore, Airwallex Platform APIs let you integrate multi-currency accounts, card issuing, global payment acceptance and payouts into your own platform.

Adyen Singapore fees and pricing

Adyen does not charge setup or monthly fees. Instead, each transaction is charged a fixed processing fee plus a fee determined by the payment method.

The exact cost varies depending on the payment method and, for card payments, factors such as interchange and scheme fees.

Fixed processing fee

Adyen's standard fixed processing fee is €0.11 per transaction, on top of the applicable payment-method fee.3

Card payment fees

For card payments using Interchange++ pricing, the fee is €0.11 + interchange + 0.60%.3

Interchange fees vary by transaction, while Adyen passes applicable interchange and scheme fees through to the merchant.

Local payment method fees in Singapore

Adyen publishes Singapore-specific rates for several local payment methods on its pricing page:3

Payment method

Singapore fee

GrabPay, online

€0.11 + 2.8%

GrabPay, in person

€0.11 + 2.2%

Atome

€0.11 + 5%

Minimum invoice

Adyen has a minimum invoice that depends on the merchant's industry or business model.3 It does not publish a standard minimum amount on its website, so businesses need to contact its sales team for details.

Information in this section is based on Adyen’s official website as of 11 Sep 2026.

How to set up your Adyen Singapore account

Setting up Adyen involves an application and onboarding process rather than a purely self-serve sign-up. Here's what the path from sign-up to going live looks like:

Step 1 (optional): Create a test account

If you're a developer, you can create an Adyen test account to explore the platform and build your payment integration before going live. The test environment is designed for development and testing and cannot process real customer payments.

You can skip this step if you don't need a test environment before signing up.

Step 2: Contact Adyen to sign up

To become an Adyen customer and accept real payments, you'll need to start the onboarding process with Adyen. This involves contacting its sales team and providing information about your business.

Adyen will then guide you through the application and verification process before granting access to a live account.

Step 3: Complete the compliance checks

Adyen reviews your business and ownership information as part of its onboarding process. Depending on your business and verification requirements, you may need to provide:

  • Business registration documents

  • Information about directors and ownership

  • Details of your ultimate beneficial owners

  • Tax information, where applicable

  • Proof of identity and residential address for relevant individuals

  • Proof of the authorised signatory

  • Bank account documentation, where required

Additional documents may be requested depending on your business and verification requirements.

Step 4: Build and test your integration

Once you have access to the test environment, you can configure your payment methods, build your integration, and test payment flows before processing real transactions.

If you accept payments online, you'll also need to make sure your website or checkout meets Adyen's requirements before going live.

Step 5: Configure your live account and go live

After your application is approved, you'll receive access to your LIVE account. Your test account configuration does not automatically carry over, so you'll need to configure the live environment separately before processing real customer payments.

Once your live setup is complete and you've finished the required testing, you can start accepting payments.

Who Adyen Singapore is best suited for

Adyen is generally geared towards businesses that process significant payment volumes across multiple channels and markets. It can be particularly relevant for businesses that need to bring online, in-person, and platform payments together.

Adyen makes the most sense if you:

  • Run a large business with both online and physical retail, and want one platform to manage payments and reporting across channels

  • Process high transaction volumes globally and want Interchange++ pricing for greater visibility into card payment costs

  • Operate a marketplace or platform and need embedded payments with onboarding, compliance checks, and split-payment capabilities

  • Want a payments provider with established card-acquiring infrastructure and direct connections to major card networks

Keep in mind that Adyen:

  • Has a minimum invoice that varies depending on your industry or business model. If your payment volume is low, you may still need to pay the minimum even when your transaction fees would otherwise be lower, which can put more pressure on cash flow.

  • Uses a sales-led onboarding process rather than a purely self-serve signup, so getting started may involve more upfront business and compliance checks

  • Does not currently offer its Accounts, Card Issuing, and Capital products in Singapore.

  • May require a separate provider if you want payment acceptance alongside multi-currency business accounts, international transfers, and corporate card issuing in Singapore

Why Singapore businesses choose Airwallex over Adyen

Adyen brings payments, acquiring, and omnichannel commerce together, making it a strong option for businesses with complex payment needs.

But if you want to manage more of your company's finances alongside payment acceptance, Airwallex gives you more financial tools in one platform, including business accounts, international transfers, corporate cards, expense management, and bill pay.

Here’s what you get with Airwallex:

Manage your business accounts and international transfers

Airwallex gives Singapore businesses multi-currency Global Accounts and international transfers alongside payment acceptance. You can collect and hold funds in 20+ currencies and send transfers to 200+ countries and regions from the same platform.

Adyen does not currently offer an equivalent ready-to-use business account and international transfer setup for Singapore businesses.

Manage company spending and expenses

Airwallex combines multi-currency Corporate Cards with built-in expense management. You can issue company and employee cards, set spending controls, track expenses, and manage reimbursements from the same platform.

Adyen does not currently offer an equivalent ready-to-use corporate card and expense management solution for Singapore businesses.

Pay and manage bills from the same platform

Airwallex's Bill Pay lets you upload, approve, pay, and reconcile domestic and international bills from your account. You can also set approval workflows and pay vendors in multiple currencies.

Adyen does not currently offer an equivalent ready-to-use bill pay solution for Singapore businesses.

Simplify your payments and company finances with Airwallex

Note: Adyen does offer Accounts, Card Issuing, expense management, and other capabilities, but only through its Embedded Finance offering.

Companies can use these tools to embed financial products into their own platforms and offer them to their customers or users, but they are not business finance products that a company signs up for and uses to manage its own accounts, cards, expenses, or bills.
