You can integrate checkout on your website or app in several ways—from a pre-built hosted page or checkout component, to individual payment elements, to a fully custom UI. Choose based on your needs, technical capability, and how much control you want over the shopper experience.

Build with Checkout Session

Checkout Session is available for early access. Reach out to your Airwallex account manager if you would like to use this feature. Learn more about early access.

Checkout Session is the recommended way to build a pre-built payment page. Your server creates a session with one API call, and Airwallex returns a URL to a hosted payment page. No JS SDK is required.

  1. Create a session from your server, with the amount or line items, currency, and options such as payment methods and theme.
  2. Redirect your shopper to the returned URL.
  3. The shopper pays on the Airwallex-hosted page and is sent back to your success URL.

Checkout Session supports one-off payments, saving payment details for future payments, and subscriptions and invoices with Airwallex Billing.

Checkout Session is available now for the pre-built payment page. Support for the pre-built checkout element and pre-built payment elements is coming soon.

Payment scenario support

Product support

Subscriptions and invoices with Airwallex Billing are supported when you build your payment page with Checkout Session. Existing integrations can continue to use Billing Checkout.

If you do not need checkout on your website or app, use payment links for one-off payments via shareable links or QR codes.

For Airwallex Billing (products, prices, subscriptions, and invoices), use Billing Checkout—Hosted Billing Checkout, Embedded Billing Checkout, or Billing Checkout Elements—not the Payments integration options in the table above.
