Offering More Customers a Flexible Way to Grow their Business Account Cash Balances

Last spring we introduced Yield in beta to wholesale customers. Yield is a revolutionary product designed to empower businesses with flexible ways to save and grow their funds.

Since its launch, Yield has been embraced by Airwallex customers with over $100M AUD in funds now earning returns. Businesses are able to maximise their cash balances with competitive rates compared to the banks without the stress of lock-up periods.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the expansion of Yield, making it accessible to even more businesses in Australia. Responding to the demand from our customer base, Airwallex is now the first payments company in Australia to be granted an AFSL licence to provide access to investment products to businesses regardless of size. With this license, we are now able lower the minimum initial application for Yield to $10,000 AUD, democratising access like never before.

At Airwallex, we understand that every business is unique, with varying financial needs and goals. With this expansion, we aim to cater to a broader spectrum of businesses, from startups and SMEs to larger enterprises, providing them with a business account that  optimises their cash management strategies.

Airwallex Yield offers a range of benefits1 that are tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses:

  • Competitive returns: Yield offers a return of 3.69 percent for AUD balances and 3.55 percent on USD balances (compared to a 1.06 percent p.a. and 0.50 percent p.a. respectively)*2.

  • No lock-up period or penalties: Unlike traditional term deposits, you can move your money in and out of your Airwallex Yield account as needed.

  • Easy access to USD returns: You can generate returns on your USD balances, just as easy as you would AUD, no foreign accounts or entities required.

  • Safety meets growth: Grow your funds with a low-risk, highly graded, liquid investment with Airwallex’s investment into JP Morgan money market funds.

  • Xero bank feed integration: Sync your Yield balances and returns to Xero in real time for faster reconciliation

We invite businesses of all sizes and industries to explore the possibilities of Yield. If you are an existing Airwallex customer, simply log into your Airwallex account, navigate to the Wallet tab, and click the Airwallex Yield ‘Get Started’ button. You’ll be able to move funds to Yield and start generating returns in minutes.
