Offering more customers a flexible way to grow their multi-currency balances

Earlier this year, we introduced Yield in beta to selected Hong Kong customers. Yield* is a revolutionary service designed to empower businesses with flexible ways to save and grow their funds. Hong Kong businesses are able to maximise their cash balances with competitive rates compared to traditional savings deposits** without the stress of lock-up periods.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the expansion of Yield, making it accessible to businesses in Hong Kong. Responding to the demand from our customer base, Airwallex Capital Hong Kong Limited has secured a licence from the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) to provide asset management services to businesses regardless of size. This makes Airwallex the first global payments group to obtain such a licence in Hong Kong.

At Airwallex, we understand that every business is unique, with varying financial needs and goals. With this expansion, we aim to cater to a broader spectrum of businesses, from startups and SMEs to larger enterprises, providing them with an investment solution that optimises their cash management strategies.

Airwallex Yield offers a range of benefits that are tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses:

  • Competitive returns: Yield offers a return of 3.97% for USD balances, 3.87% for GBP balances, 1.71% on EUR balances, and 0.88% for HKD balances (based on past performance of underlying funds as of 16 June 2025; actual rates may vary).

  • No lock-up period, penalties, minimum, or maximum balances: Unlike traditional term deposits, you can move your money in and out of your Airwallex Yield account as needed.

  • Easy access to foreign currency returns, including HKD, USD, GBP, and EUR: You can grow your multi-currency balances without having to open a foreign bank account.

  • Safety meets growth: Your funds are invested into AAA-rated money market funds, such as the JP Morgan Liquidity Fund. This rating reflects a conservative risk profile, high liquidity, and strategy to invest in short-term, highly-rated securities.

  • Xero bank feed integration: Sync your Yield balances and returns to Xero in real time for faster reconciliation

We invite businesses of all sizes and industries to explore the possibilities of Yield. If you are an existing Airwallex customer, simply log into your Airwallex account and click the Airwallex Yield ‘Get Started’ button to open an account with Airwallex Capital Hong Kong Limited.
