Australia (AU_PAYTO_DEBIT)
To add funds to their connected accounts via PayTo, your customers must first link their Australia external bank accounts based on the requirements mentioned in Linked Accounts.
Before any PayTo debit is processed, the owner of the external bank account must authorize Airwallex to debit the account on your behalf, in compliance with the Australia Payments Plus Rules. A copy of the authorization will be sent by Airwallex via email to the bank account owner, and is stored and made available to be shared with the customer at all times.
The following is a guide to building your native scale experience for your connected account customers to link their external bank account and sign the mandate/agreement.
1. Linking an external bank account
The title should clearly inform your connected account customers that they are linking an external bank account to set up PayTo.
You must ask the external bank account owner for:
- If they wish to link via PayID
- PayID (Email/Phone Number/Australian Business Number/Organisation ID)
- Or the following if they choose to enter bank account details
- Bank account name
- Bank account number
- BSB code
- Bank account owner email address
- The maximum amount per PayTo transaction, subject to additional daily limits applied to their account.
- Customers should be informed that some banks may automatically reject the PayTo mandate if the amximum per transaction amount on the mandate exceeds a certain value. In such scenarios, they should create a new linked account and specify a PayTo transaction limit in line with their bank's policy.
3. Confirmation of direct debit set up
You should provide a confirmation page to your connected account customers at the end of the process to inform them that PayTo has been successfully set up for the linked bank account.
