Regulatory changes and compliance, geopolitical instability, the emergence of AI, supply chain disruption, FX exposure, and rising interest rates: today’s finance leaders face an increasingly volatile world.
Finance teams themselves have also evolved, with CFOs increasingly driving strategy and success within organisations.
With change complex and ever-constant, it’s more important than ever to have key insights to inform your strategy.
Published by the Australian Financial Review in partnership with Airwallex, From Risk to Resilience: Rethinking Global Finance for Modern Business is a new report which draws on insights from interviews with financial leaders and an independent YouGov survey of 750 Australian and New Zealand executives.
You’ll also find three case studies from leading businesses T2, AS Colour, and MYOB to learn how they are adapting to this new reality.
What’s top of mind for Australian businesses?
A YouGov survey of Australian finance teams commissioned by Airwallex revealed a number of macroeconomic risks that were perceived as top risks by businesses in Australia.
Asked what major risks were coming to their finance operations over the next 12–24 months, 52% of Australian businesses identified inflation cost pressures. This was the top risk identified.
In a separate question, inflation and cost pressures were also identified as having the biggest external impact on Australian businesses over the past 12 months (by 52% of businesses).
You can see the other external factors identified in the report.

You'll also read insights from apparel brand AS Colour, which navigated an evolution from paper-based processes to a platform-ready footing to manage international complexity. Finally, the report explores MYOB's own internal transformation as it reimagines its tech stack to create a single source of truth and empower its team as strategic, data-led advisers.
