PayPay is an e-wallet that allows customers to simply enter the amount they wish to pay or to scan a QR code with a price embedded in it. The mobile wallet enables users to make seamless and secure transactions through their smartphones by linking their bank accounts or credit cards to the PayPay app. As of 2023, PayPay has more than 61 million registered users and has become one of the most popular e-wallet in Japan.
PayPay is currently only available in beta testing program. Please reach out to your Airwallex account manager or [email protected] if you'd like to join the beta; PayPay's onboarding process can take up to three months or longer.
