You can enable Apple Pay via the Airwallex web app. Airwallex handles the registration with Apple in the backend for you and also manages validation and payment processing functions of Apple Pay on behalf of you. You will not be required to create an Apple Merchant ID, generate and maintain certificates and integrate with Apple directly. 

Airwallex uses its own certificates to handle validation and decryption of payment tokens. This is not supported for mobile integrations therefore you are required to have your own Merchant ID and certificates for mobile integration.

You can enable Apple Pay as a payment method for your merchant account using these three simple steps.

1. __Enable Apple Pay__: You can find this option under Payments > Settings once you log in to your account on the Airwallex web app. As a prerequisite, your merchant account must be set up for online payments to add Apple Pay as a payment method. 

2. __Accept Apple Pay terms & conditions__: Apple has defined a set of [guidelines](https://developer.apple.com/apple-pay/acceptable-use-guidelines-for-websites/ "Usage guidelines") that you are expected to abide by if you would like to offer Apple Pay as a payment method. These terms need to be agreed to before proceeding with the registration steps.

3. __Add your domain (optional)__: If you are not using Airwallex's Hosted Payment Page integration option instead using your own payment page then the domain information must be added. See explanation from Apple to understand the [merchant verification process](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applepaywebmerchantregistrationapi/preparing_merchant_domains_for_verification "Verifying your merchants"). Follow the steps below to complete your registration: 

    __a)__ __Specify your domain name__ : Register with Apple all of your web domains that will show an Apple Pay button. Must be a valid domain name.

    __b)__ __Download domain verification file__ : Apple provides a domain verification file which enables them to verify the associated domain during the registration process.

    __c)__ __Specify path to host file__ : Host the file at this path `<<DOMAIN_NAME>>/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association` on your site. While hosting this file, `content-type` should be set to `application/octet-stream`.

You can enable Apple Pay for iOS via the Airwallex web app; however, you are also required to register your information on the Apple developer portal. 

Follow these steps to complete the process:

1. __Procure CSR file__: You can use the Airwallex web app to initiate the onboarding steps. Navigate to Payments > Settings to enable Apple Pay if not enabled already. Click __Upload certificate__ in the __iOS certificates__ section to initiate the enabling process. Download the CSR (Certificate Signing Request) provided in the first step on the next screen.
2. [Create a merchant identifier](https://help.apple.com/developer-account/#/devb2e62b839?sub=dev103e030bb) on the Apple developer portal, which uniquely identifies you as a Apple Pay merchant. Note that this merchant id never expires, and can be used in multiple websites and apps.
3.  [Create a payment processing certificate](https://help.apple.com/developer-account/#/devb2e62b839?sub=devf31990e3f) using the registered merchant identifier to secure transaction data. Apple Pay servers use the certificate’s public key to encrypt payment data. Merchant (or payment service provider) use the private key to decrypt the data to process payments. 
4.  __Upload the certificate file__ : Upload the payment processing certificate downloaded from the previous step in the workflow initiated in Step 1. Clicking the __Upload__ button completes the registration process. Now Airwallex can decrypt the payment token information for you.
