Global Account Capabilities

A global account is provisioned based on a given currency and location. It contains standard bank account information and a set of capabilities that can be configured and accessed programmatically. It is important to note that the account level capabilities may vary across currencies and locations.

Supported currencies and locations

Using our Global Account API, you can open bank accounts in the following locations and currencies:

  • United States: United States Dollar (USD)
  • Europe: Euro (EUR)
  • Australia: Australian Dollar (AUD)
  • United Kingdom: Great Britain Pound (GBP)
  • Hong Kong: United States Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) and Chinese Yuan (CNH), Japanese Yen (JPY), Australian Dollar (AUD), Swiss Franc (CHF), Canadian Dollar (CAD), Euro (EUR), Great Britain Pound (GBP), and New Zealand Dollar (NZD)*
  • Japan: Japanese Yen

*refers to accounts in currencies which only inward SWIFT payments are supported while local payment methods are not supported.

Basic account information

Like bank account, you will find the following information when you create a Global Account:

  • Account name
  • Account number
  • Account routing type, e.g. ACH Routing Number (for the United States)
  • Account routing value, e.g. 123456789 (for the United States)
  • SWIFT code
  • Currency, e.g. USD

These account information allows your customers to send money into the account or bind the account to another platform.

Account capabilities

Global Accounts come with various capabilities. These include but are not limited to supported local pay-in methods, support for direct debit / auto-payout etc. When you create a Global Account via the API, you can see its capabilities in the response (enhancement work ongoing).
