Local EFT payout (Priority/Regular)

Canadian institution number and transit number

The institution number and transit number are used to identify a specific bank branch in Canada, which can be typically found on bank statements, official bank websites or bank-issued cheques. You may encounter routing numbers in 2 different formats:

9-digit format of 0YYYXXXX: a leading zero followed by a 3-digit institution number and then by a 5-digit transit number
8-digit format of XXXXX-YYY: a 5-digit transit number followed by a 3-digit institution number, connected with a hyphen

Local Interac e-Transfer payout

When paying to an email not registered with Interac e-Transfer or a phone number, you'll need to specify a set of security question and answer to be shared with your beneficiary. Learn more in Canada Interac e-Transfer Guide .
