Enable cards
Accept credit and debit card payments directly on your WooCommerce store checkout with an embedded, PCI-compliant card form.
Enable the Cards payment method to accept credit and debit card payments directly on your WooCommerce checkout page. The embedded card form collects the card number, expiry date, and CVC without redirecting shoppers away from your store.
Before you begin
- You have installed and connected the plugin to your Airwallex account.
- At least one card scheme (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay, JCB, Diners Club, or Discover) is activated in your Airwallex account under Payments > Payment Methods.
Enable card payments

In the WordPress Admin, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Airwallex.

Select the Cards tab.

Check Enable Airwallex Card Payments.

Configure the following settings:
Setting Description Default Title The payment method name displayed at checkout. Card Description Optional description displayed below the title at checkout. — Checkout form Embedded displays the card form inline on the checkout page (requires WooCommerce 5.2.0+). On separate page redirects the shopper to a dedicated payment page. Embedded Capture immediately When checked, payments are captured automatically when the order is placed. Uncheck for manual capture. Yes Capture status When manual capture is used, the payment is captured when the order transitions to this status. — Enable saved cards Allow logged-in shoppers to save their card details for faster future checkouts. No Skip CVV When enabled, shoppers can use saved cards without re-entering their CVV. Some card issuers may still require CVV. No -
Click Save changes.
Statement descriptor
To control what appears on your shopper's bank statement, configure the Statement descriptor on the API Settings tab. Use %order% as a placeholder for the order ID.
Saved cards
When saved cards are enabled, logged-in shoppers can:
- Save new cards during checkout by selecting Save my card for future payments.
- Use previously saved cards for faster checkout.
- Manage saved payment methods under My Account > Payment methods.

Shopper experience
At checkout, shoppers see the Card payment option with logos for all card schemes enabled in your Airwallex account (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay, JCB, Diners Club, Discover).

When saved cards are enabled, returning shoppers see their saved cards and can pay without re-entering details:

Testing
- Enable sandbox mode in the plugin API Settings tab.
- Use test card numbers to perform test transactions.
- When ready to go live, disable sandbox mode and switch to your production Airwallex account credentials.
